The lowdown about neighborhood listservs and social media
There are a few ways to stay connected to the neighborhood, through the BNA and other sources. Here, we try and sort them out for you.
BNA Emails and Newsletter
As a member of the Boulevard Neighborhood Association, you will receive periodic emails about news and official business of the organization and the neighborhood. Emails are sent from our gmail address listed below (make sure we aren't marked as spam!) and occasional newsletters or fliers are delivered via our block captains.

The "Unofficial" Listserv
You may have heard about or joined the Yahoo Group-based "Historic Boulevard Neighborhood" listserv which is now defunct. This listserv is now hosted by Google Groups and titled BoulevardAthens. While topics on this email list may overlap with ones being discussed by the BNA, this listserv is not associated with the BNA, and BNA does not monitor or moderate the discussions there. In fact, the email list consists of more than 500 residents—both current and former.

Follow these instructions to join:
  1. Click on this link: https://groups.google.com/g/boulevardathens.
  2. Click "Ask to join group"
  3. Where it asks why you want to join (toward the bottom), enter your residential address or business name within the neighborhood (see map below for boundaries - generally Pound to Pulaski and Prince to the RR).  Use the following format:  "Resident [address]" or "Business owner [business name]".  For example: Resident 211 Main St.  (There's no need to put in any other info.)
  4. Click "Ask to join" at bottom right.
Social Media
You can find the Boulevard Neighborhood Association-administered Facebook page online; look here for occasional events and announcements.

The "Boulevard & Friends" Facebook page is similar to the Google Group listserv in that it was started by neighbors and is not monitored or moderated by BNA. But it is a good resource for neighborhood happenings, lost animals, crime updates, etc.
